When did you join William Grant & Sons?
What’s the best thing about working for William Grant & Sons?
This is a family owned company which gives us the opportunity to take time in nurturing our brands (e.g. Monkey Shoulder, Hendrick’s) in addition to having the flexibility to be pioneers in discovering new variants cask finishes.
Tell us a little bit about your role at William Grant & Sons: what do you get involved with/how does your role support the business?
I am in the commercial side of the business responsible for growing our market share in the Middle East, and driving equity behind the brands through targeted marketing activations. My main job is to manage 3rd party distributors working closely with the Global Brand Team and the IMEA (India, Middle East and Africa) leadership team to deliver the Global Brand Strategy as well as the company’s 5 year business plan. My role supports the business in driving volume, net sales value and bottom line growth to the company.
How would you describe your personality/character and what makes you a unique employee?
I speak four languages which is practical when dealing with a wide array of customers from Arab-speaking Middle East markets to French-speaking North African markets. I am originally from Lebanon so able to understand local cultures, which helps me manage distributors and consumers more efficiently. I have a good attention to detail which is essential when dealing with a large geography of complex markets.
What’s your favourite of our brands and why?
The Balvenie 17YO Doublewood is by far the best whisky I have ever tasted and my personal favourite.
